For the defense of Chairman Gonzalo!

For the defense of Chairman Gonzalo!

Comrade Dave

Abimael Guzmán (better known by his nom de guerreChairman Gonzalo) was the last great Marxist of the 20th-century, for his role in leading the Peruvian revolution and synthesizing MarxismLeninismMaoism. Gonzalo led an active revolutionary struggle at a time when the Soviet Union was collapsing, China had restored capitalism, the Cold War was ending, and western pundits were declaring the "end of history". He proved that Marxism was still valid in the present era. This is why his legacy must be defended against opportunists and revisionists.

Gonzalo managed to rouse the peasants of Peru into revolutionary action, and through the Maoist method of Protracted People’s War, managed to take over around 60% of the country. This was a remarkable achievement in America's "backyard", especially during the aforementioned "end of history". Gonzalo upheld Marx, Engels, Lenin, Stalin, and especially Mao, and synthesized their theories into what we now know as MLM. This makes Gonzalo the 6th Head of Communism. To deny this is to deny Maoism’s place as the third and highest stage of Marxist thought. Gonzalo's contributions are known as "Gonzalo Thought".

Gonzalo’s greatest contribution, however was his fight against revisionism. Gonzalo acknowledged that the Soviet Union after the death of Stalin and the People’s Republic of China after the death of Mao went down revisionist paths, abandoning revolutionary Marxism, and restoring capitalism. He also disavowed other revisionist states, like the DPRK, Cuba, and Albania. Gonzalo, like Mao, knew that the only way to combat revisionism was by launching a cultural revolution to purge the party of revisionist and capitalist elements.

Gonzalo was arrested in 1992, blamed for the Tarata bombing. Gonzalo died in prison 29 years later in 2021, at the age of 86. He will forever be remembered by communist revolutionaries the world over for his fight to liberate the working class from the shackles of capitalist oppression.

WORKERS OF THE WORLD, UNITE!
